This photo project tells an imagined narrative of the Danu. The project is informed by mythologies of the Danu, water goddesses in both Celtic and Hindu mythologies, as well as Yemaya, a Yoruba orisha who represents the ocean. For this series, I created two pairs of dolls with my likeness, with webbed feet and hands. They were photographed on top of the Meso-American Barrier Reef in Mexico's Tankah Bay area as well as in the Black Forest in Baden-Württemberg region in Germany. The series draws from these mythologies and regions to re-consider forgotten diasporic histories and reimagine futures inclusive of those histories.
